Who says we can’t learn a little bit of English every day EVEN ON VACATION!
Let me ask you something, do you find yourself bored during the summer? You ask your mom and dad 10000x what are you going to do today? Let me give you 3 EASYY PEAZY Things you can do that will help you practice your English skills WITHOUT BOOKS!! WOO!!!!
1. Watch an English Movie 🎥
There are so many platforms right now that you can watch unlimited movies and the best part about them is that they have translations and subtitles! My first suggestion is watching an English movie that you have already watched in Spanish. It’s okay if you find their English fast or intimidating, the most important part is that you listen. You may not know it, but your brain is absorbing information from the movie and because you already know the story, it helps you understand it better!
Do this until you are more comfortable with reading some subtitles in Spanish while the audio is in English.
Just one movie per week! and before you know it, summer is over, and you’ve watched 10-12 movies in English, isn’t that amazing???
Here are some movies that are appropriate for you to watch:
Cars 0+
Toy Story 0+
Meet the Robinsons 0+
High School Musical 6+
Encanto 6+
Lilo and Stitch 6+
Frozen 6+
Up 6+
The Incredibles 6+
Sky High 6+
Marley & Me 7+
Titanic 12+
If you like series, here’s a list of series too!
Suite Life of Zack and Cody 0+
Dug Days 0+
Modern Family 12+
(for copyright purposes, I did not put any video/photos but I suggest searching it on Netflix or Disneyplus or ask your parents 💜)
2. Follow English Tiktokers 🗣📱
Do you like Tiktok? Do you find yourself scrolling through the videos like there’s no tomorrow? Well, subscribe to some of the English Tiktokers and you can practice your English with them.
It’s easy! Just do what you’ve always done, watch the video, listen, and repeat! The more you watch, the more you learn!

There are tons more of these tiktokers that just casually teach you English while you scroll down the dancing, singing and other tiktoks, so add them to your favourites and I bet it will help your English a lot!!
3. Listen to English Music👂🎵
There’s a lot of English songs out there that is easy to follow. Here’s a secret, even if you don’t understand it yet, it’s okay!! Listen and you can catch a bit of English grammar and some slang that you don’t typically get in your English books. These songs also tell a story, so if you have time, you can watch the music videos and try to explain it to your parents even in Spanish. If you try to understand it and use a bit of Spanish at first, it’s okay! The time will come when you can explain it in English, and when that time comes, you can always try it out with your English teacher or assistant next school year!
Here's 5 songs that can be a great start to your English Playlist! Dance to it! Listen to it! Put it as your background music while you play with your friends! This is really great practice!
Classic
Shotgun
Just the Way You Are
Let it Go
We Don’t Talk About Bruno
Here’s a bonus easy peazy tip: All of this you can do all year-round! This summer can be a start of something new for you and your English journey. When you come back to school, you’ll have a lot to talk about with your English teachers and classmates! You can suggest the movies you watched and the songs you listened to so you can share what you’ve learned with everybody.
Enjoy your summer, kids!
I am already proud of you for trying!
